Gift ideas for new dad

Hi all, my DB is having a baby with his partner. I am putting together a gift basket for them and I dont want to do the usual loads of baby grows and bits for just mum. So I'm going to get little bits that I found useful for the baby that people dont think of, and a few bits for mum like some hand made soaps I know she likes, a thermos mug, some chocolates etc, but what do i get for new dad as i feel like they generally get forgotten and it can be a big adjustment for them too. I will also get him a non spill thermos but what else? Any ideas at all?

DSIL bought DH the Haynes guide to babies and it was actually quite useful as we were pretty clueless Smile

Dh was always pleased when people bought round chocolate/cake/biscuits!

I can't see why he needs gifts; he's not the one who's done anything.

Your right @katy1213 he hasnt done anything in the sense that he didnt carry and deliver etc but you know I thought that maybe it might be nice if the dad doesn't get completely ignored for once. They still have a massive change in there life as well as it being a time for celebration. It's also not like I will be ignoring mum and baby.

I’d consider Netflix, Spotify or Audible subscription for a few months. They won’t be going out much for a while! I watched loads of box sets when mine were tiny.

Vouchers for Just eat/deliveroo? We had so many take aways in the first weeks after baby was born

How do you know what he's done and hasn't done? Partners/dads matter too. It's not just the woman who is going through it and I say that as a mum. My partner deserved a medal for all he did for me and does for our son now!

Anywho- I'd get sweet things or maybe a book of some kind! Smile or spare t shirts for when baby is sick on him time and time again haha!

A sling if you really want to splurge - my dp did a lot of carrying our two. Some best dad socks.

Beer. That’s what my DH got! And loads of whiskey.
