What do YOU do with poo?

Hi,

I'm just back from toddler group where I've had a rather strange experience....

Someone had left a chunk of poo, wrapped in a baby wipe, on the floor where, yep, you've got it, muggins stepped right in it! Oh joy!

Anyway, when I said to two of the other Mums who were standing close by that I always chuck solids down the loo they looked horrified! I do use cloth nappies but even if DS has been in disposables when we are on holiday I've always put the poo in the loo!

So what do you do with poo? Just interested!

when in nappy to be honest i just bin it, but if it had dropped out some how and i'd had to scoop it up in a babywipe would flush it

same when potty training empty down loo - certainly wouldn;t look at you like you were crazy

moljam · 19/11/2007 14:02

yip in loo.if runny(which is often),rinse off.cloth here too mainly.in disps id chuck as is mostly when got diarhoa.

I mainly use cloth, so it gets flushed down the loo (with liner if flushable ones or rinsed in toilet if fleece). The occasional times I use disposables, if it's a solid stool, then will flush it in toilet, otherwise, wrapped up and in a nappy sack. Only really possible to flush it if it's an older baby right? as younger ones are too runny to do anything else, I would have thought.

But yuck, on the floor!!!

How bizarre. Do they leave their own poo on the floor?

Perhaps you should tell them that poo belongs in the loo. It's not difficult to remember. It even rhymes.

tissy · 19/11/2007 15:20

odd.

You're not supposed to put baby wipes down the loo, though, as they can block the pipes. But in that situation, it wouldn't have been difficult to put baby wipe+ poo in the bun

maybe it fell out of a hastily wrapped nappy and wasn't noticed?

franke · 19/11/2007 15:23

I don't understand why your two friends were horrified at the idea of you putting solids down the loo. Where do they put their own poo fgs?! Perhaps they misunderstood and thought you flushed the whole nappy down the loo.

Egg · 19/11/2007 15:23

I drop the solid ones into the loo (use disposable nappies), and if not possible without having to scrape [bleurgh emoticon], it all goes in the bag and in the outside bin. Would never leave even a sealed bag with poo in it on the floor, esp not at toddler group .

CaptainUnderpants · 19/11/2007 15:25

Poo whether in nappy or potty went down the loo !

Any bits that didn't shake off the nappy got wrapped up with nappy into nappy sack and then bin .

How bizzare those other Mums !

NoBiggy · 19/11/2007 15:27

Tissy, do not bother inviting me to tea.

Egg · 19/11/2007 15:34

Hehe, I saw that too, poo in a bun .

tissy · 19/11/2007 18:53

I wasn't suggesting that you should have put it in the bin, but the offender!

fryalot · 19/11/2007 18:55

loo.

Unless I can't be bothered going upstairs then I make them eat it

LindaCymru · 19/11/2007 19:36

Hmm, so I guess the general consensus is "poo in the loo" unless it's too runny, or you prefer to stick it in a bun a la Tissy! Is that how you get your LO to munch it Squonk?!!!

Tissy , it was the typo of bun that made us laugh... we are not being mean! Poo in a bun, hehehee.

DS did a great one earlier, and as I hauled it into the bathroom and flushed it away I wondered why anyone would leave it lying around. It stinks for gods sake!

claireybraxtonhicks · 20/11/2007 13:07

Flush it! Hate the thought of poo in the bin (although when dd was a newborn in disposables her poo went in the bin cos it was just soaked up into the nappy).

Now use cloth and solids go down the loo and anything else washes out in machine

blanki · 20/11/2007 23:57

Poo in loo.
