5.5 month old and sleep

Ds has slept since birth in a next to me crib with one of these nests. He’s slept reasonably well since being a couple of months old - first waking twice then once.

I’ve cut him a lot of slack this week as he has had a cold but night times have been ridiculous and I am shattered. He wakes every hour and he tries to roll around. I know it is hot. Also and mysteriously last night he leaked through two nappies and he wears Pampers so seems a bit odd?

I don’t know what to do about where he sleeps. The problem with the cot is it’s so big he can roll all over it and also lazily I don’t want to be going into his room half the night. Plus he is not six months until 16th June.

However the crib doesn’t seem quite right for him either? Help!

My DS sleeps in a next to me in a sleeping bag. I think he finds it harder to roll when he is in there. I've also seen some posts suggesting tucking the bottom of the sleeping bag under the mattress so it's even harder to roll! You could try size up in nappies for night time?

I’m not sure why this is a cot/crib issue. Is he just off colour and/or maybe having one of the usual periods of sleep disruption?
