Comfort formula for colic

Hi I'm currently breast feeding my 3.5 week old. He's developed terrible colic in the last week and screams all day and night. He doesn't sleep for more than 30-40 mins and feeds constantly.

My mental health is unravelling a bit due to the sleep deprivation of this plus looking after my 2.5 year old. We have very little support as family not local.

The midwife suggested combi feeding with some comfort formula.

Just wondered has anyone used comfort formula for colic and did it actually help.

We've been using infacol and colief to minimal effect. Also trying all the winding techniques under the sun as he is so gassy and in pain with it.

V similar boat here - gassy 3 week old and also got a 2yo. No advice, just lots of empathy and hope that someone's going to come along with some insight for us!

Hello, tbh I would've thought bottle feeding would make colic worse. Is baby latching on ok and having a satisfying feed?x

I know that if you go on the NICE website you can search the latest guidelines for treating colic which might help. I would also be tempted to ring the local HV team that you will be with. The health visitors are often the best for feeding worries.

I'm sorry for multiple posts, my phone is breaking! It's such a stressful time though, mine are older now but I remember the hell! Much love to you.

I don't know if this will help you but my son is 4 months and we struggled with colic and as a ftm it drove me insane as I couldn't help him

I was advices to try comfort milk which we did and I found it helped I'm currently using sma but Iv just found they have changed there formula and I don't think it's that good so I would recommend maybe trying the cow & gate? I also changed from mam to Dr brown bottles and I found them to be the best thing 😊

Hope it helps
