Bonding

Hi,
This may be a little longwinded, but I am at my wits end. I am a Mum to 3 and full time step Mum to my two step children (their Mum is not in their lives anymore). The problem is that my husband does not make an effort for his 2 children that are not mine. I do everything for them. I treat all of them equally and try to make sure I have time for each of them. I organise holidays, birthdays, school, keep on top of homework...everything! My husband barely speaks to them. I am sure this is to do with bonding, and he missed out on a few years of their lives as he was in the military and posted away for years. I know he loves them, but he isn't involved with them at all. I do everything. We argue about it a lot, and he says he will try and make an effort, bit it has been like this for 5 years now. He shows our children affection, but not his own. I tell them all the time that 'Daddy isn't great with talking much' which is true, but they come to me with everything. I find it very hard to manage the family and work because I feel responsible for everything and everyone. I think I have had enough, because if I as a step Mum have managed to bond with them (it has not been an easy ride) then as a biological father he should be making much more of an effort.
Ironically, my father left us when we were small and had nothing to do with us but loved his second family! I can feel the pain all over again like I am reliving it through his own children! Am I being too harsh?
