Wise Mumsnetters please help me!

I'm obviously a bit dense but I can't seem to get my head around what is available for me to do with my 9 month old dd.

It's the last couple of months of my mat leave and now we can actually start enjoying it I want to take her out and about!

We go to the park and see friends but I thought we'd be able to go swimming (can't, all the local pools have long waiting lists) or to baby sensory (still on waiting lists) or to soft play or even to the library for rhyme time (website not too clear on whether this is running and can't get through on the phone).

Anyone doing things now and can you suggest things to me that I can look up/book? Thanks in advance. Just want to enjoy my last few weeks with her Smile

@fivelittleducksthationceknew everything in our area has waiting lists too! It’s very frustrating but I guess everyone is in the same boat having missed out on all the activities! We really wanted to get baby in the pool early as we both love the water and would like him to grow up swimming lots - like you though, all local pools were booked. We booked a cheap night away in a hotel not too far from home that had a small pool and took him swimming both days 😊 he loved it! Do you have a local farm park or anything? We’ve booked one for next week.

Swimming round here is a nightmare to book!
Find another soft play further afield? Farms?
Do you have a garden- have you bought any garden toys (weather locally here in the south east is to get nice next wk- finally), lots of toys and bubbles and music.
Any friends of yours you could meet for lunch- they don’t need to have children as yours doesn’t interrupt conversations yet Grin
I used to enjoy just a browse round the shops and then some lunch out with my baby

Thank you for your responses both of you Smile
I took her out for some lunch today and it was lovely. The hotel idea is a good one might look at doing something like that too
