Leaking nappy

My DS has been wearing pampers nappies since he was born, he's now 5 months and he's in size 2. The past few days he's been leaking abit, it's always been during the day so we notice straight away and can change him. Last night, he leaked overnight and this morning when he woke up he was soaking wet.

The nappies don't seem too small for him and I think size 3 would be too big for him.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I would try the next size up. It’s always a good idea to have a packet of the next size up because they grow quickly and it takes you by surprise. Does he need the next size vests?

I'd try the next size up. Mine went through the small sizes very quickly - we've been in size 4 since about 4mo.

Both my boys did this in pampers. I did find going up a size helped. Sometimes it was just the way they laid which squished the wee out! I think occasionally I resorted to any / all of:

  1. Putting two nappies on, the layer on top put on backwards (you can reuse this one next time if it doesn’t get wet)
  2. Using a reusable nappy /cover on the top
  3. Lining with extra absorbent pads (the ones they have in reusable nappies)
  4. Checking his clothes weren’t too tight
  5. (Reluctantly) setting an alarm to change them in the night!
  6. Try a nappy pant not normal nappies if he’s a big mover / twister at night?
I seem to recall a lot of people on here swear by Aldi nappies for no leaks but we were too lazy to change brand.

My 3 month old is in size 3 pampers and has been for a few weeks. Unless yours is teeny and still in 0-3 month clothes then I reckon size 2s are too small hence the leaks. The baby dry ones we use are suitable for 13lbs which is roughly a 50th percentile 3 month old. Get a small pack and give them a try?

Go by weight limits rather than "size".
