Baby proofing

Hello

I've got a 7m old who is just starting to crawl.

We have a traditional bannister in our house which is near impossible to get a baby gate on. The sides of the spindles are curved on both sides at the top of the stairs.

Has anyone got any ideas on what else I could do/use before my child tumbles down the stairs 🤦🏻‍♀️

We couldn't fit a stair gate to our stairs so we put them on rooms instead so DS couldn't get there by himself - we had one on the living room and one on his bedroom door.

We had the same issue so bought this:

Using gates on rooms rather than the stairs is also a good idea but wouldn’t work for us as our layout is open plan.

We have gate on the doorways of our living room and had one on the door of the bedroom too.
We have plasterboard walls and it's hard work finding the wood behind to safely fit gates on the walls.

We don’t have one on the stairs, I was told the top of the stairs is dangerous as if they learn to climb over or it’s not closed properly they have a higher fall.
Put on on the bedroom instead or across upstairs hallway if you have

We did a home made version of what LakeShore bought - DH screwed flat, stained to match the newal post, pieces of wood on to give a flat surface to attach the gate to. We had wall on one side at the bottom, so only 3 bits required....

I have the same kind of bannisters S you. Decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Never used a stair gate. DD never fell down the stairs. I taught her to go up and down on her bottom very early on and she was fine.
