Early waking and weaning - is it a thing??

Help!

Since we have been weaning, DD now 7mo has started to wake at about 5 every morning and only occasionally can we get her back down Sad I think it’s related to the weaning as she literally grunts making me think it’s her digestive system kicking in. I give her a daily probiotic and we’re only on first tastes so I know I’m not ‘overdoing’ it.

I thought it may have just been a habit she got into, but it started the same day we introduced solids. She can self-settle and before this had slept through the night until gone 6...

Can anyone help or tell me I’m not alone?! Does it pass as she gets used to food?? It’s been 3 weeks now and we’re exhausted! X

What’s her daytime routine and when does she go to bed?

I dealt with early waking by going to bed early. I went to bed at 9 for years!

Have you tried giving milk at 5 and putting back to bed?

DS woke at 5ish and wouldn’t go back down until he was about 3 or 4. It was exhausting, we took turns to get up with him every morning. We would go to bed at 9ish to compensate.

My eldest used to need help farting every night when we started weaning. He grew out of it after a few months.

On avg 2.5-3hr naps (9ish, 1ish then a 15min catnap at 4.30/5) - bedtime is about 7pm

Are you sure it's not the light mornings waking her? Mind houses at the first hint of daylight, even with our blackout blinds

*mine rouses

I don’t think so as wasn’t before... as it literally started happening the very next morning starting weaning. Could be a possibility, but I’m convinced it’s her sensitive tummy as she has CMPA x

Mine did this too, I pegged it down the her tummy working through the new food. After a month or so it all settled down a bit. Mine tends to go through phases of waking up hideously early for a while and then back to sleeping in, not totally sure why to be honest but it's just one of those baby things!
