I’m trying to transition my 6 week old onto formula. We’ve got her to take 2 feeds - one in the day and one at night but she’s really unsettled. Not sure if it’s the formula or the change from breastfeeding.

She’s starting to refuse the breast unless she’s really tired. I have a fast let down so she’s often choking (have tried to let it go into a towel and relatch her) and very unsettled.

Any advice very welcome. I’m trying to avoid mastitis by expressing once a day but don’t want to cause more milk to come in as I’m already struggling with blocked ducts.

Lecithin is excellent for helping prevent blocked ducts . I was seen same very fast flow and a huge supply.
Have you read about pace feeding? Don’t use a newborn teat and feed slowly so that your daughter has to extract the milk from the bottle replicating the breast.
Are you still feeding through the night ? It’s your night time feeding that really stimulates your milk , when you switch over to formula for those feeds your supply should drop.
