Breastmilk cause smelly poo?

Hi, I've been combi feeding since birth my boy is now almost 4 months. He's mainly been formula though due to various issues we had trying to feed. I have still been trying to breastfeed and express but have got to the stage now where I am starting to give it up as it's not working for us. I've noticed after stopping breastfeeding his poo doesn't smell at all! Literally he used to clear rooms when farting or pooping but I don't even notice any smell now and was surprised when I opened to a dirty nappy as didn't expect it! I thought it would be the other way round. It's also a mustard colour rather than the green colour it was when I was combi feeding. Is this normal?? I always thought formula resulted in stinkier nappies but it appears the other way round since I've stopped breastfeeding!! Also not passing stinky gas like he used to! I'm confused!

Possibly he is sensitive to something you have been eating (so there are traces in the breastmilk) but that isn’t in formula? Obviously not cows milk but maybe egg or something like citrus. Alternatively it might just be his gut settling down as he gets older.

This very much sounds like he's allergic to something, so it might be worth getting advice from your health visitor about weaning.
