When to move baby on to size 2 teats?

Morning everyone,

I’m currently sat here with my 6 week old after an AWFUL nights sleep.

He’s a hungry baby, always has been from birth! But recently he’s been very very windy. We wind between feeds so try to wind every 1-2oz etc. But I’m wondering could he be sucking too hard and taking too much air in, should we move him to a size 2 teat on his bottles?

Last night all he seemed to do was drink 1oz then fall asleep, wake about 1-2 hours later rooting for food, hands in mouth etc and then the exact same, drinking 1oz and falling asleep! I’m wondering whether the size 1 is now too much for him and he’s getting tired eating?

He’s definitely hungry as his last full 5oz feed was 11pm last night, and he usually has at least another 4oz at 3-4am...puzzled!

I prefer the variflow teats, tommee tippee ones can be used from birth

I’d definitely give the size 2 teats a try. If it’s too fast for him it will be obvious and you can switch back to size 1 so nothing to lose. We used them from about 4 weeks.
