just want to vent - my gp has been driving me mad this week, thought you might laugh at his opinion on dd's washable nappies
dd1 has had,imo, a viral rash, prob hand foot mouth (years of googling experience! }
anyhow, it all started with her waking up covered in a massive chickenpox like rash on her bum that then spread down her legs, and screaming in agony all night
so took her straight to the gp who diagnosed . . . . . .a heat rash that triggered excema. heat rash in nov hey??!! all apparently caused by my insistence on using very scratchy cotton tots bots omg my gp drives me soooo mad.
needless to say, ds1 and ds2 now have this apparently contagious excema/viral rash - no washable nappies to blame this time
honestly - if you went to your gp cos of a rash and they were in disps would anyone ever suggest changing to washables? and what happened to the age old refrain of gp's = it's a virus!
sorry, got to share, i'm still raving mad about the whole thing

GP's in the UK were told the following when they studied:
If a patient comes to see you, say it's a viral infection and then give them stupid advice

too right
whats happened to all that good old fashioned advice?
saw 2 dif docs, theres me 'is it a virus?', them, succession of ridiculous suggestions about cloth nappies

When ds got thrush, my lovely gp said that there was no need to put disposables on him just to change them more often. He was lovely.

Not gloating anymore though as he has retired now and have a very scary lady gp. You know, the type makes you feel like you are wasting her time telling her about being sick. I suppose it keeps her appt book free though.
