Next to me cribs safe to sleep with side part down?

Hi - sleep deprived parent of 3 week old where none of us are getting much sleep. Moses basket is hated by DS, I am not happy co sleeping as we have a softer mattress which has an incline from the pressure of me lying on it, baby sleeps blissfully in bed next to me however, so looking at a next to me cot as a safe alternative.
My eldest was born in 2015 and I remember an issue with bednests being withdrawn following a very sad fatality and as I remember it was the partial side up that was implicated.
So my question is, with the chicco next to me, is it safe to sleep with the side down/ in the partial side down position?

I don’t know about partially down - but it’s definitely safe when fully down and attached to the bed you’re sleeping in.

I had a Snuzpod not a Next to Me, and they only come fully down and attach properly to the bed with straps. If you’re worried, that could be an option? The newer models are bigger and more similar in size to Next to Me cribs.

Yes it’s safe with side fully down, not partially, with the Chico we got the dream which is the one that has a lip so baby’s mattress is slightly lower than yours, I wish we’d got a classic side sleeper so the mattresses were on the same level. My little boy is 8 months now and we now have his big cot tied to the side of our bed like a giant next to me!
