Babies with reflux - anyone?

Can I ask if anyone's babies are currently being prescribed ranitine or omeprazole for reflux? My LO was prescribed then last week I was told they have supplier issues so have me a dispersible tablet however my little one won't take this, I can't mix it with expressed milk, and now my LO has been screaming for days.

Is anyone else been told they can't get these medicines? My GP previously told me the omeprazole suspension was very expensive at £52 per bottle so they wouldn't keep my little one on it if it wasn't helping. He clearly needs it and now I am unsure if the gp is fobbing me off

My DC is on omeprazole. We were also told they would only prescribe the dispersible tablets. I chop the tablet in half and dissolve it in approx 7.5ml of water and then syringe into into his mouth using a neurofen syringe. Can't say he loves it, but it goes in and that's the main thing!

My baby is on omeprazole but we get the suspension - we were never told it was an issue by our GP.

We had the Omeprazole suspension but have had to disperse tablets in water this time due to lack of supply. Our GP upped our dosage since it wasn't working as well as the suspension.

There have been supplier issues for months but previously we had always managed to get hold of it.

Could it be that you are mixing it with milk it why it isn't working. My instructions say not to do this but do say I could add fruit juice. I do find it doesn't work as well unless given before milk.

I though they had stopped giving babies rantitadine?

I had only tried today mixing with milk as my LO wasnt taking it without. He is 10 weeks old so not sure if I could mix with fruit juice? At my wit's end as the suspension was helping so much. My older little boy was on ranitidine 2 years ago and was told that has a supplier issue also. It's so frustrating.

My HV told me that GPs don’t like prescribing omeprazole as it is very expensive. So she told me if my LOs reflux doesn’t improve in gaviscon then to go back to gp & really push for it x
