Strange question.... boy changing pants

Hi everyone, my 12 year old step son has been with us for the weekend. I’ve just gone to put a wash on and found the basket full of his underwear. He came to us Friday after school and left this morning before school and there are 7 pairs of pants in the wash (plus he’s wearing a pair today). So 8 pairs of pants since Friday.... I can’t see that they’re dirty.

I’ve just told my husband (his dad) and he’s shrugged and has no idea what to say.

It’s not an issue washing them obviously, I just think it’s odd. Any ideas? Or is this normal for a pre teen? 🤔

Worth mentioning they’re definitely from this weekend, I know they were all there clean in his drawer on Friday morning.

He might be changing them morning and night. I wouldn’t be too concerned

Same here. My 12 year old son finds it much easier to throw them in the wash basket than to actually hang them up. He likes to wear different clothes for activities, sometimes changes 3 times per day. They all end up in his wash basket. I now take the clean ones out and hang them back up and only wash the actual dirty ones 🙃

Possibly wears them for bed too so changes each night and each morning?

Not something I've come across - my problem was always getting my DS to change them at all Grin

@Usainoz

You hang up pants?

Usainoz · 17/05/2021 13:09

@ItsCokeFFS I misread the post, it went from underwear to pants. We don’t call underwear pants. Pants are pants and yes I hang them up on those hangers with clips. I have no more to add other than good luck OP.

Underwear IS pants

Twinkie01 · 17/05/2021 13:16

My DS goes through what seems like hundreds of pairs of pants on a weekly basis. One for the day, one after he showers when doing games, one after showering when he gets home and then a clean pair to sleep in. I think it's normal for boys.

Underwear IS pants

Unless you’re in the US where pants are trousers Confused

Thanks everyone! Sounds like it’s fine then, I’ll just keep an eye on it. Feel like I’m obsessing over my wash basket 🤣 It looked like a lot when I looked in it 😱 I guess it works out 2 per day plus today’s plus another.. so 3 on one day 🤷🏻‍♀️

I also thought it a bit strange for a boy who is so unhygienic 🤣

Sorry for the confusion with pants/underwear! 🤦🏻‍♀️

My washing pile looks like I have another 3 people living in the house in addition to us and our 2 littles at the best of times 😭😂
