Cot to bed

When would people recommend moving their lo I to a bed? My daughter has a space saver cot (length quite long but very narrow and light) so when she is turning over (she does this a lot) she is banging her head and always seems to be looking squashed she usually like to lay in funny positions. I've been lucky enough to be given a toddler bed with the fitted guard she is now 14months and she knows of she piles her quilt and stuff in the corner it makes her taller so she tries to climb out the cot (we are at the lowest setting) or if she throws herself hard enough she can shake the cot. My LB was in a bed by about 17months as he hated been confined but is 15 months too early but she doesn't sleep properly at all and I think a bed may help... Currently she is still in our room.

Bed rails shouldn’t be used before 18 months.

Can you use a baby sleeping bag for her instead? Then it will be harder to climb out and no bedding to pile up.

It's a wooden one what is attached to the side of the bed no so much a mesh one
