Can you please recommend any ideas to keep her as comfortable as possible - she's 10 months old!

The first cold is horrible isn't it! What worked for us...

  • Asda Vapour bath before bed
  • Calpol plug in in nursery
  • Snufflebabe vapour rub on chest and soles of feet (tip I read on here, random but works!)

Have you hot one of those snot suckers? They really help with clearing things up.

Aldo, have her sleep in an elevated position. We got a pillow/cot wedge thingy and it makes a huge difference.

My 12 month old just got over her first cold. Things I done to help her was:-

  • Humidifier in the room when sleeping
  • Baby Vicks on her chest, back and feet at bedtime
  • Calpol plug in
  • Klearvol on a tissue next to cot (but out of reach)
  • Nosefrida and saline spray to clear her nose

It’s horrible isn’t it Sad

Yes to the snot sucker which were using! She's such a wriggler in her cot, ends up upside down back to front after an hour in bed so not sure how the elevation will go, most likely end up with her feet propped up rather than her head but will give it a go Grin thank you!

Our LO had his first cold at 5 weeks. It was horrific! He's had quite a few colds since then (as have we). The best things we found are the Snufflebabe vaporub, the Nose Frida snotsucker, and the Sterimer nose spray. Absolute lifesavers.

Calpol nasal saline drops are great to go with the above suggestions.

This is my exact routine too! The asda bath stuff is great.

The saline drops are good for loosening up the stickier snot (tmi) too!
