there was something in the news recently about how most people's most compelling memories of fun/great times were outdoors... got me wondering...

what do you do to have amazing moments with your children? things that you all treasure? and what meant most to you as a child?

with me, like the news thing said, all outdoor things, going to bluebell woods (something I do every year with my DSx2) and picking strawberries.... plus reading books in fields all by myself...

Anything that involves a beach and/or water. Time of year doesn't matter other than to change swimming cossies into tracksuit bottoms and wellies.

We went to the Lakes this spring and apart from splashing around in the bottom of waterfalls, the DC's (3&5) climbed their first mountain, which will stay with me forever, if not them.

From my own childhood, I remember kite flying.

Conker collecting, sunrises & sunsets, earlier this year I took my 2 to a local beauty spot to watch the sunset and have promised them a return trip for a sunrise. Strawberry picking, blackberry picking. We often go to a local hill to chase rabbits, same hill for kite flying. We build dens in the woods.
