New born sleeps slightly to the side in swaddle

Our little baby boy is a week old now and just loves sleeping slightly to his side in his swaddle. We lay him on his back and secure him, then he slightly turns to the side and sleeps like that. Other times, he’s on his back and just lays his head on the side, so clearly he’s content and very comfortable in this position. We have a Snuze hero nappy alarm attached to his stomach which monitors his breathing all night and alerts us if anything were to happen but I also worry, as they say babies before 4 months should sleep on their back only. The Thing is, we can’t force him completely on his back because when we do, he reverts back to side slightly again. To be honest, he’s such a content little baby and sleeps amazingly, but always reading up on warnings not to let baby go to the side. He’s in his swaddle all secure, so there’s no chance he rolls onto his stomach. Just wondering it anyone had a similar scenario?

My daughter also curls to the side, now 4 weeks old. I also had to pen her in with a rolled up blanket underneath the sheet as she would wriggle to the edge of the crib and be on her side face pressed up against the side, not health visitor approved but I'd rather not have her doing that! I took her out of a swaddle and into a sleeping bag at 2 weeks just incase she managed to fully roll, and she was also breaking free of her swaddles at this age. You could try a thin blanket or muslin over the top up to the lower ribs and tucked under the mattress on the sides and bottom edge to almost pin him on his back if you're worried, then he'll just turn his head but be unable to curl to the side.

My daughter did this, HV said it was fine as long as you put baby into the cot on their back and they get there themselves. She never rolled completely. She now likes to sleep on her side
