Digital detoxing

DS2 (8) needs a digital detox so we're starting tomorrow. I've chatted to him about this and tried to make it a competition plus thrown in a bit of bribery too but dear me it's going to be tough. Any tips to help us through it?

Turn off the WiFi early and hide the box. If that's doesn't work for you as a family go into parental controls on his tablet and set up the time you want him on it and the time for it to switch of so the rest of the family can use WiFi.
