Just over a week ago my recently turned 2 y/o, refused a nappy and said she wanted to do her wees in a potty. Within a few days she'd got it, she does have some accidents when distracted at the childminders but other than that she takes herself to the potty to wee and pulls down her clothes.
Poo is a different story!
She is getting very distressed and saying poo is coming. We have had her on and off the toilet and potty hundreds of times over the last few days. We have spent ages in the bathroom with her.
We have had some success, out of perseverance. But she wants to get on and straight off, paving around, crying, panicking. Today we have had to put a nappy on her and cuddle her telling her it's OK to do it in the nappy because she was getting so upset.
She wants to sit on the toilet, not the potty. But won't sit on the toilet for long without wanting to get off.
I'm worried that it's too early for her to potty train, she has only just turned 2. I wasn't planning on doing it just yet, but she asked for it so i went along. But now I don't know what to do. I can't revert back to nappies completely because she won't wee in a nappy now. But she is so distressed about the poo situation it's breaking my heart!
Please has anyone else gone through something similar and can help?
