Hey guys, how long did you swaddle your baby for?

My baby sleeps better when he is swaddled otherwise he keeps moving his hands and waking himself up.

I was just wondering how long I can swaddle him for.

You can swaddle until they learn to roll. My DD was swaddled until 6 months.

Mine were swaddled until they managed to Houdini out of the blanket, rendering it pointless. Think it was about four months or so.

I swaddled my daughter until she was about 3 months then put her in a sleeping bag.

My son is a week old and we have started to swaddle him at night as be keeps smacking himself in the face and waking himself up.

I stopped at 8 weeks with both of mine as per AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) advice. It just so happened that DC1 started trying to chew her way out at that time, she later became a thumb sucker, and DC2 rolled at 9 weeks so it was definitely the right time for us to stop. We had one or two bad nights of hitting themselves in the face but then they settled in to their sleeping bags just fine.
