How do I get an 8 week old to sleep?!

Hi,my baby is 8 weeks old. She's sleeping well at night - 11-5 without waking sometimes. But during the day she's either feeding (breastfeed) or crying. I feel like I've tried everything. She hates slings. I've had the latch checked and they're happy with it. Sometimes we do resort to giving her a bottle of expressed milk or formula which sometimes calms her down but not always. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Oh it’s so hard when they cry loads!

Does she like car journeys, the pram? Dummy? My baby is older than yours but he sometimes likes me bouncing him on his baby Bjorn chair, do you have anything like that?

Hi Aliceandthemarchhare, she likes the dummy but struggles to keep it in Confused. I haven't been in the car with her yet 🙈. She's a bit hit & miss with the pram. It's settled her a couple of times but mostly she just cries. I out her in the Bjorn chair too and she's ok for 5 mins but then the cries start 😳😩

Mine is the same with the dummy, I read a good tip on here to strike their cheeks to encourage a latch. It’s hit and miss with my baby but it does help!

Stroke, not strike. I am definitely not advocating striking babies [shocked]

Thanks for correcting that 😂. I'll give it a go!

My 12 week old is doing the same now. She was pretty good at first, infact she slept loads. She still sleeps OK during the nigh but she's getting worse. During the day it's naps for at the very most 45 mins. I feel like all I do is feed her and try tk settle her to sleep, then shes crabbit. She's my third so you would think I would be better at this by now.

At least I'm not alone! It's totally exhausting isn't it?!
