How do I know if it's just runny poo or diarrhea?

My 3-month-old DS has been having 2 runny poos a day for the last month or so. My question is, how can I tell if they are normal poos that are just runny, or if he has diarrhea?

Thanks.

I personally find that diarrhea really stinks.

Whereas ordinary ones are not as bad.

Diaarhea (in DS's case at any rate) is made up of watery and not so watery.

Is your baby breast or bottle fed - when DS was 3 omnths and breast fed every dirty nappy was runny, but no diarrheah until a couple of months ago.
