My 7 day old is currently in hospital with a suspected infection - he’s having 5 days worth of iv antibiotics - he’s on a little bit of oxygen (0.3) they’ve tried to wean him off the oxygen however his heart rate keeps falling below 89 he’s breathing super fast aswell - his antibiotics course will be finished on Saturday and I’m worried he seems to be not getting off the oxygen - has anyone been in a similar situation ? What happened next if things haven’t settled - all the docs says is we can look at other reasons why he could be breathing fast like his heart but not sure if they thought it was his heart they would be waiting this long to get checked
