From a 2 year old still in nappies?!

Is it a case of nappy off and watching in the hope to catch some!?

Give them lots of juice/water, sit on a potty, put tv/ipad on, put wee from potty in sample.

I’ve seen the suggestion before to put cotton wool inside the nappy and then squeeze it into the tube, but I’m not sure if that might cause any contamination

Are you at home or in hospital? We had to do this when DD was about 1 but in hospital we sat her on one of those hat things they have for being sick in she peed pretty quickly after having the nappy off and we managed to catch some! (She did start standing up so it was also on her legs, socks and the blue roll on the bed!)

You can get collection bags that stick to their bits, then put a nappy over the top.
Fill toddler with favourite drink, remove bag once full of urine.
I got mine from pathology nurse at local collection centre.

Thank you for suggestions! Game of cat and mouse on my hands this afternoon!

We’re at home @Miarara, I’m going to try find something similar to catch it!

The GP gave up a special pack, a bit like a none absorbing sanitary pad which you put inside an inside out nappy and then syringe the wee out.

Another vote for the collection bags u stick over their bits.

We have to get regular samples from 18month old dd and this is the thing that has worked the most successfully.

We got some off amazon

I’m going to order some of them bags for next time!

7 hours later, DS not drinking all day, I managed to get him some water in him at 19:30, chasing him round with a cup for half an hour I managed to catch his wee!

In hospital the nurses put cotton wool in DD's nappy, then wrung out into the collection pot by (gloved) hand. She was a tiny baby at the time, but maybe it could work for a toddler with a lot of cotton wool?

This works. I had to get a urine sample from DD as a newborn and did this.
