Does this look like teething?

4.5 month old has been incredibly unsettled and crying in pain when taking a bottle at some points. Just wanted a second opinion on whether anyone else can see a tooth coming through?

Does this look like teething?

Hey op - usually first tooth is the bottom front ones rather than the top

No I don't think so

You'll get the effects of teething for days/weeks before you see the sign of an actual tooth because it hurts them under the surface.

Try some teething gel before the bottle and see if it helps.

Looks like thrush. See GP

I agree with @SteveBuscemisRheumyEye

Usually but not always. My son got his incisors first.

OP its really difficult to see much, but I cant see much sign of teething.

I thought thrush too.

miliie55 · 28/04/2021 22:28

No I don't think that's teeth. Could be thrush. Is top of the mouth or tongue white. It can put them off feeding and make them unsettled. My baby had oral thrush twice. It's also common if your baby had been on antibiotics. That's how my did got it first time.

Pic of my little one when she had a few top teeth coming through. Teeth look like more obvious bumps and as they get closer to breaking the skin you'll see the white of the teeth.

I agree with pp, could be thrush. Doesn’t look like teething.

KCN2020 · 29/04/2021 10:39

It could be thrush, but my LO was similar a couple of weeks ago would scream at the bottle (inside of his mouth looked similar) but he also had runny nose and was chesty, they said it was viral and the next day he was back to drinking full bottles again, no screaming. So they could be coming down with something ?
