Cluster feeding?

My 3 week old is absolutely ravenous. He’s having about 4oz a time, not sicking up, burping fine etc but this is every hour or so! He never seems full, he’s constantly rooting for food and has barely slept today. He’s formula fed so I didn’t think cluster feeding was a thing for them! Help!

Does he take a dummy? Is it possible he just wants to suck?

@MotherOfDragon20 he does yeah, but then spits it out and continues rooting!

Babies are designed to cluster feed. He doesn’t know that he is being formula feed. Are you pace feeding? If he drains the bottle are you offering more?

@Thatwentbadly

I am offering him more yeah, is that the wrong thing to be doing? I’m a first time mum so this is all very new to me!

Thanks

That’s right. If he drains his bottle it means he needs more. Definitely try paced feeding if your not already doing it.
