Why do women feel guilt

Why do I feel like a bad mum for not being with my kids 24/7? I've returned to work part time after 3 years. The hardest work I've ever had to do but the best but I still feel guilty for not being with them when my husband isn't worried at all. Is it innate or are we taught this guilt?

I suspect it’s both!

I've wondered this, largely because I feel no guilt. But I do live outside the uk where its the norm to have dc in daycare while you work/study. Sahp get raised eyebrows.

I think all ‘gendered’ behaviour is learned. We feel guilty because we live in a society that only lets childrearing work if a parent (usually the mother) stays at home.

I think it's learned too and much more ingrained than I thought it was.
