Problems with 10 month old and feeding

I’m literally dreading meal times at the minute. DD won’t take anything from a spoon when I feed her anymore apart from yoghurt and been like this for the past week. She cries and gets annoyed when I try to give her anything from a spoon but will happily eat any finger foods. Has anyone had this issue/having this issue and could give me some advice please? I feel like an awful and like she isn’t getting enough food.

My little one won’t take a spoon so we’ve done blw and she feeds herself. They’re still getting most of their calories from milk at that age so I’d try not to worry about how much she eats (easier said than done I know).
Just make sure you’re offering a range of fine food cut appropriately.

My 11 month old went through a phase like this recently, she was teething and now she’s back to letting me spoon feed her (I do a combination). Is your LO teething?

Give them the spoon and let them smear it all over themselves feed themselves. Its very common at this age.

Dd1 refused a spoon and solely fed herself. Don't stress plenty of babies done take rona spoon ana it's probably better in the long run as some spoon fed babies I know then struggles to move into textures ana swollow oh them whereas if you do finger food early on there's no problem. It's called baby led weaning, do sone reading into it, dd1 loved it and it's amazing what their gums can chew up 😂😂 xx

Let her do it herself? My dc fed themselves from 6 months.

Have you considered baby led weaning? From 6 months my (now 10 mo) DS would clamp his mouth shut at the sight of a spoon going near him but would happily shovel slices of fruit and veg into his mouth. He now eats whatever I’m eating with his hands and mealtimes are fine, although I should be honest, quite messy. Don’t worry about intake - as long as she is still drinking milk/formula all will be well. Good luck x

Hi @Vicky1989x I did think it was teething a first as she’s done it before but it’s lasted too long this time for it to be teething. @KindleRemote I have tried giving her the spoon but she doesn’t want it at all just throws it away. @AliceW89 yes we’ve done both and she’s loved her meals I’ve been feeding her up until about a week ago. DD is having her bottles which is great.
Thank you all for the lovely advice. I will just keep persevering with her and see what happens

Yeah this is very normal.

Baby led weaning is your friend
