Toddler - lamb & pork

My 14 month old hasn’t had any lamb or pork.

We don’t eat it ourselves (apart from my partners love for bacon) so I’ve never given it to him, but whilst looking for some recipe inspiration for toddler I’ve come across lots of sausage meals, pork chops etc

The idea of giving him it feels a bit gross from a nutritional perspective, so I’m curious how much of it your toddlers eat.

Is there any reason to include it?

Neither me or dc have ever eaten lamb.
Dc were all vegi until secondary school - some stayed vegi, some now eat chicken. All never wanted to eat lamb.

@Temp023

Oh God! THAT’S what wrong with my DC!

I sometimes fed them sausages!

How has it taken you this long to realise? Shoddy.
@FTEngineerM I haven’t yet. I’ve given him curries made with mild curry powder and he was happy enough, maybe I could try ours too.. I had just avoided it as I was worried it’d upset his stomach!
Yeah, if he’s happy with the flavours of curry powder he’ll probably enjoy bits of your more spicey food too.

There was a documentary on BBC or channel 4 before about how we only have receptors for spice in our mouths and but holes so his stomach would be fine just going in and coming out.

@00100001 Why so rude?

Ikmnot being rude.

Just wondering why you started the thread,when you're not willing to change what you do?

I'm really not sure what you wanted from the thread??

You already knew that pork and lamb weren't an essential part of your child's diet. You have an aversion to them. You don't eat them normally...

Did you really expect us to change your mind? Confused

@00100001 How strange that you don’t understand why I posted it.

I asked a very clear question at the end of my post. I’ll copy it below for you.

“ Is there any reason to include it?”

But... surely you already knew there's absolutely no need to include pork and lamb in a diet???

Confused

Make some meatballs? Easy to freeze.

Canyouexplainhowthatis · 22/04/2021 21:12

@00100001 If I did, I wouldn’t have asked. I’m not a nutritionist.
