I have a really deep worry and anxiety about having another baby. I don’t want to ruin what I have my my first child and I’m worried we will ruin a really good thing and that I won’t feel the same about the new baby. I can’t imagine not having time for my first after 3 years of him being our one and only.

Any tips for easing mum guilt?
Any tips for surviving/coping with a new baby and 3 year old?

Thanks x

I had a moment like this towards the end of my second pregnancy. There's 7 years between mine and I couldn't comprehend how it was going to work and got quite emotional about poor #1! In the end it was fine, dynamics change but you just manage and eventually settle into your new ways.

I have DS 13, DD 3 and DD 5 weeks. When DD 1 was born I didn't experience this guilt, as DS was much older, starting to be more independent, very excited and I knew he understood. However, when DD2 was born the mum guilt hit me like a wall. I first experienced it when I was in early labour and DH took her to nursery. I cried as they drove off the driveway. Then the hormones at day 4/5 made me feel utterly awful, I felt all sorts of things and couldn't shake the feeling that I'd ruined everything by having another. However, we're now at 5 weeks and things have settled and it's safe to say DD1 absolutely adores DD2. She wants to hold and cuddle her constantly, she sits and watches her, giggles at all the little faces and noises she makes. I just made sure I included her with everything, I try to make as much time just for her as possible. Tell her how great of a sister she is, how helpful and grown up she is. It's easy for me to say now but you will be fine Smile good luck and congratulations
