Bed rail

Hi just a quick question I need to convert my Childs cot bed into a bed and want to put a bedrail on. I found one in Argos which is fitting beds 150 to 200 cm long. Her mattress is 150 cm long so will fit. My question is it will cover the whole side of where the mattresses does she need space to get out at the bottom or the top like a small gap. Or will it be fine just cover the whole of it.

Sorry if it seems daft question first time mum

The bed guard we had only covered part of the side of the bed. Can you link to which one you are looking at

I have the vikare from Ikea which only covers part so there’s a space to get in and out. When they don’t use the space and climb over the (fairly low) bar they often end up falling into the bed and banging their head on the wall. For this reason I’d suggest one with a gap.

I've just seen it's 92cm long and the bed is 140 so that should leave enough of a gap right?

Bed rails are only safe for us from 18 months.

My daughter is 2.4 years and launched herself out of bed twice this week from four ft high and hurt her neck the last time

Yes that's fine, I have the bed guard in the middle so a gap at each end as my daughter moves constantly during the night. Good luck!

Lol it's not going well at the moment, she's suffering separation anxiety and is checking every so often if I'm there so I'm on a blow up bed in her room lol
