3 1/2 month old routine?

So I know all babies are different and routines different but does this sound about average for a 3 1/2 month old? What were/are yours like? We don't follow a strict routine, this is just what generally happens naturally give or take an hour here and there!

6.30am wake up
Feed and get dressed then play for a bit
8.30am Nap
9.30am Wake up, feed then play
11-12.30pm Nap
1pm feed then play
2-4pm Nap
4.30pm Feed then play
Then he's on the go until bedtime basically!
Every other night we bath him and get him ready for bed at 7ish.
7.45pm Feed then he falls asleep on one of us and we take him up to his cot at 9pm

Usually he sleeps from 8-8.30pm til 6am but sometimes wakes once in the night for a feed.

Does this sound about right/average? Should bedtime be earlier? I'm not sure how to move it earlier as we have to be in the same room with him until 6 months and surely people don't go up to bed that early?!

Sounds fine. Re going to bed earlier, if your baby sleeps downstairs it’s fine to keep him there with you. Mine won’t, so we go to bed when he does (around 7) and watch something on the laptop in bed.

He's 3.5 months old so still tiny- apart from getting him to know night from day, the routine is for you not him.

Sounds great. The earlier bedtime comes along at some point in my experience - my 4mo has moved from 9.30pm bed time to 8.30pm in the last few weeks so I'm sure that'll keep moving forward as she grows. She sleeps downstairs with us and I take her up after her dream feed at 10ish.

Sounds perfect, if it's working for you both then don't change anything. Bedtime will gradually get earlier as they get older. When my son was 3 months old he was barley napping longer than 20 minutes and would wake up every hour so much better than he was!Grin

Sounds great. However, get prepared for 4 months as it all goes a bit wild then!

Thanks all!

You’re onto a good thing. Mine’s 5 months and we have nothing near that level of predictability. I’d kill for a nap of more than 45 minutes 😂

If it's working for you keep at it. My 5 month old has a 9/10pm bedtime and sleeps through till 8, don't plan to try any earlier until he's 6 months and he can go in his own room.

If it's working for you then go with it! The uninterrupted night sleep is amazing. My only comment is that the awake times in the day seem long (my 8 month old sometimes struggles to be awake for 2.5 hours), but then he doesn't sleep through the night.

Another one to say that sounds totally amazing for a 3.5mo. You sound like you have nailed it.

Mine has only just started sleeping 7-6 at 2.5years, but he never suffered from the 4 month sleep regression (just the 8 month, 10 month and 2 year ones) so ignore the naysayers and worry when it actually happens.
