My DD is 16 weeks old (though was a few weeks early so is considered 12.5 weeks in terms of milestones). In lockdown I don't get to see other babies the same age so don't really know what's normal, but I'm wondering if she's where she should be in terms of vocalisation.
I talk and sing to her a lot and try to engage her in nonsense conversations etc but she never really makes noises in response. She smiles and makes good eye contact, and occasionally makes a kind of laughing sound, but no babbling or anything. She only ever really makes an 'uh' noise, and that usually goes with a physical action like kicking her legs. She responds to loud noises and definitely cries loudly!
I'm seeing the HV next week anyway so will ask what she thinks but was wondering if anyone else has had a baby like this?
