Looking after baby alone with covid - struggling

Hi everyone,

So i live alone with my son who is 8 months old, I’m waiting on my covid test results so I’m isolating but I’m 99.9% sure we both have covid.

I’m absolutely exhausted, I had 2 hours sleep last night and baby isn’t sleeping well at all as he’s so grumpy and stuffy, and when he is up he’s on the go non stop as he’s starting to stand/pull up on furniture.

I’ve got no one in my bubble who can come over as it’s obviously dangerous and my parents are high risk.

He usually goes to bed around 6 but he’s been asleep for an hour already and he’s usually had his last nap long before now. Is it bad for me to let him sleep? I can’t even sleep myself as I feel so lousy I just physically can’t run about after him. It’s so difficult.

Has anyone else been in the same situation? What did you do?

I would just let him sleep. Try and nap yourself as well.
Just make the living room safe for him to crawl around.

Honestly just let him sleep. If he's poorly he will need the extra rest and so do you.

Temporarily abandon the idea of day/night. Sleep and drink and repeat. Are you able to get shopping delivered or live off takeaways? Can you ask you bubble to batch cook and drop stuff on the door step?

Myself and my DD both had Covid in January when she was 8 months old so I know exactly what you’re going through! It was rough, but I just let her sleep when she wanted and didn’t stick to a routine until she was better. I just had no energy myself so just slept/rested when she did.

It's a tough time but just go easy on yourself. Single parent here and I had covid in January same time as my DC. It wasn't great but I managed it.
