i was advised by hv to use olive oil on a bit of dry skin on babies face. now 3 months later she has cradle cap on her face including the area that i used olive oil but also her cheek. i am convinced i caused it with the olive oil although doctors say thats not the case and so does husband and friends. i cant stop thinking about itnand feel so guilty. i see posts from other mums who have used it and its not been a problem but i cant shake this feeling ive done something. is it even possible that olive oil can do this?

I wouldn’t say you caused it at all, I used olive oil on my babies cradle cap as it can help with it not cause it!

Just sounds like he is susceptible to dry skin. Most babies get it and cradle cap.

No I don’t think so but it definitely sounds like anxiety I’ve just finished a course of therapy to do with separation anxiety and it was massively helpful I would definitely suggest looking at something similar if you feel the same feeling across other areas of your life
