Looks like a fingernail scratch from what I can tell on my phone

dementedpixie · 07/04/2021 15:42

A bite?
There certainly seems to be a hole there

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 15:42

It could well have been his fingernails - was just worried as he’s been very clingy and tearful this afternoon. Thank you.

Wasp sting?

DinosaurDiana · 07/04/2021 15:44

Looks like a bite.

sodabreadjam · 07/04/2021 15:48

Seems to have a centre to it which would indicate a bite - and inflammation around it.

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 15:50

Any ideas what sort of bite? We don’t have any pets Sad

Has he been out in the pram ?

Bumblebee1980a · 07/04/2021 15:53

Is there any way you can send the picture to the doctor? They should be able to send you a link for you to attach the photo.

Does it have a hole in the middle? It looks like that from the photo.

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 15:53

He has, yes and the sling but the crying and unsettled-ness started before . They could be unrelated I suppose.

It does bumble yes ... I’ll call the gp I think

I sometimes get a bite on my leg, even wearing leggings, just from hanging the washing out.

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 16:01

I know what you mean! Just a bit concerned ... there’s a two hour wait at the walk in centre too. Argghh.

You can pop into a chemist and ask a pharmacist to have a look at it.

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 16:08

That’s a really good idea - thanks Smile sorry, I think common sense flew out of the window, hopefully along with whatever bit my baby!

It does look like an insect bite. You could also ask a pharmacist for advice, then contact your GP if something needs prescribing.

dottiedaisee · 07/04/2021 16:11

Insect bite . Ask chemist for antiseptic lotion .

daffodilsandprimroses · 07/04/2021 16:12

Thank you. OH is going to a pharmacist with a photo of it.

Just to make you feel a bit better OP when my eldest (now 6 and a half!) was 2 days old I flew into an utter panic because he had a temp and was red and I didn’t know what to do, phoned the hospital as had yet to see community midwives, they were lovely and very kindly asked me what he was wearing and then suggested I took a layer or two off and recheck temperature after 30 mins .... honestly I don’t think I’ve ever fully recovered from the embarrassment Grin
