Contented baby suddenly an 8 week old grouch

Hi everyone, hoping for a bit of reassurance I suppose... my baby girl has been pretty chilled and content on the whole so far, but as soon as she turned 8 weeks old last week she’s been grouchy as hell. She also had her jabs yesterday which won’t have helped, the poor thing. Just wondering if other parents experienced this and whether it’s just part of the normal developmental leap they go through at this age? Seems like she’s only happy when she’s sleeping at the minute. She’s whingy in the day between naps (which are becoming more difficult to encourage), fussing and crying during and after feeds and hits a horrible witching hour from about 5pm that can last a couple of hours til one of us can manage to rock her to sleep. She’s also been squirming a lot at night the last two days and seems windier than usual (we haven’t had much of a problem with this since she was a couple of weeks old, and we’re getting plenty of burps up, but it still seems trapped in her tummy). Any ideas? Mentioned all this to the doctor and he just said she sounds ‘a bit colicky’ but from what I can gather that’s just a description of symptoms rather than a diagnosis. I don’t want to medicalise something that’s probably just ‘being an eight week old baby’ so I guess I’m just hoping to hear this will pass and I’ll soon have a happier little girl back? Anyone been through this?

I think there is an 8week growth spurt... I could have written the above myself! Baby has become a fussy eating machine in past few days.

Sorry you’re going through it too @123magicstar though it’s heartening to know I’m not alone x

My DD is 10 weeks old and we're going through this. She was definitely fussier for the few days after her jabs.

She was quite sleepy and calm until a few weeks ago, but has been fussier lately. She's been sleeping a lot less which I think contributes, and it's taking us hours to rock her to sleep. No advice really because we're still dealing with it!
