Negative view of parenting

I wonder how did you feel after your baby arrived? I don’t know if I’m seeing too many negative things but I’m just overwhelmed with the “bad view” of becoming a mother. I hear about exhaustion, lack of sleep, sore nipples and breasts, lochia, weak pelvic floor, scars (metal and physical), potential postnatal depression or baby blues, loss of identity, struggle to bond with a baby, missing old life etc. As a person that never really likes babies/children it fills me up with anxiety and stress. I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant and don’t really hear about anything positive related to your new life as a mother.
Have you experienced similar issue? Could anyone tell me something good about postpartum period?
I am scared ☹️

Please try not to worry. I was so influenced by negativity about having children that I decided not to have any. However life had other plans and I not have a 9 month old daughter. It’s been amazing and so much better than I expected. I feel quite resentful that I was put off by other people negatively.

The first few weeks were the best for me especially as it's your first! yes you're tired of course but really your only responsibility is to cuddle and feed your gorgeous little creation and it's just the best feeling. You can eat crap and just enjoy being lazy because you're allowed!! Things will gradually change but you move with the times and you'll be a more experienced mother every second that passes so when it actually comes to it, all the anxiety is for nothing really. Enjoy :)

Thank you all ladies ! I’m feeling much more reassured. At the end of the day if it was only bad, people wouldn’t have children at all !
Best wishes to all of you !

I think its a very british to talk about the negatives and minimise the positives.

The lows can be quite low but the highs are utterly breathtaking. Unfortunately people seem to talk about the lows more.

Also as my mum always said if it was that bad-people wouldn't do it again and again.
