Hey everyone. Was wondering if anyone has any advice or has had a little baby with thrush. She has white patch on her tounge which has now been confirmed as thrush. 5 days ago she was given nystatin 4 times a day 1ml. But her tounge is still white and nothing changed.

Does it take longer to go? Or is it just milk? Because there has been no change on her tounge.

If anyone can help would be really appreciated 🙂 thankyou

If you are breast feeding then you will need to treat your nipples too.

This happened to my DS when he was small. We had two lots of nystatin and that didn't clear it up. We had to give cooled boiled water before the medicine so that there was no milk residue left but he wouldn't take the water. Have you tried that? Eventually we had daktarin gel prescribed which cleared it up quickly. We also stopped using our steam steriliser and started using milton and that helped too. Hope you get it sorted soon xx

Thankyou for your replies. I'm not breastfeeding just bottle feeding. Have tried the water. Also have a cold water Milton steriliser but nothing seems to work. Have even tried applying with sterilised finger in Milton and put the medication on the tounge but it's still there. Not sure weather to phone GP xx
