Baby dropping formula feeds at 9 months.

My LO is 9 months, been on solids since 6 months and she absolutely loves food. Eats anything I give her and has large meals. At 6 months she dropped to 3 feeds, 1 in the morning, 1 in afternoon and 1 before bed. Now she's 9 months and she refuses her afternoon bottle and is now refusing her bedtime feed! I'm so worried this will affect her but I can't seem to get her to drink more formula. I do put formula in her breakfast.

Between 7-9 months they need around 600ml a day and from 10-12 months they need 400ml. If she’s not having that amount, give lots of calcium rich foods and maybe a multivitamin.

I never knew it was only 400ml after 10 months until someone told me on here recently as my DD is dropping milk too but we can’t force them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any milk counts so if you are giving cereal or porridge made with formula or full fat milk. Or cheese sauce on pasta or cauliflower. And add other dairy products like yoghurt, cheese cubes or Babybel for snacks. My first wouldn't drink milk at all after I weaned off bf at 13 months so I know all the tricks...

She has only around 4-5 Oz in the morning and 2oz before bed :/ I mix grated cheese and cream cheese into her mash potato and she also has natural yogurt for nearly every lunch and dinner time.

My son did this for a while and I made things with formula. For example, made creamy pasta sauce with formula instead of milk, fish pie made with formula, mash potatoe with formula. Essentially any food that usually had milk as an ingrediant I substituted with formula.

My DD did this at 8 months, refused point blank to drink any formula at all. I just used milk wherever I could in food & gave her a decent multuvitamin. She's fine, 18 months old & still won't drink milk!

That sounds absolutely fine, Wednesday.

At 10 months my son refused to drink anything but water, he wouldn’t go near formula and at nearly 9 years old now he is incredibly adventurous with food but still will only drink water. We just made sure the rest of his diet was well balanced.

Mine was a greater water drinker too, Florin. Didn't drink much milk but had milk on cereal, cheese and yogurt. He ate extremely well with a good variety of food and grew up strong, I never worried about it. As an adult he does drink milk now, as do I, I love it.

Hi Op

Sounds fine to me! I’ll be honest my baby was on full fat milk by 10 months, each to there own and all that! Sounds like you have a good eater too !
