Is anyone here a fan of her? I absolutely love this lady and her advise on how to actually care for small beings. I wish every new mum was handed her books before birth. She has made me into such a better parent and taught me things I would have never known. Don’t really know what the point of this post is (just that I’ve just mentioned her on another post) but she just doesn’t seem to be that well known of, yet she could probably change the way we all parent for the better.

I ‘knew’ her on a parenting forum 10+ years ago.. she was just another parent, and iirc she had her own distinct parenting style which she was very vocal about. Not my cup of tea.

I agree with the majority of her stuff but I don’t like the way she is seen an an authority. She is just a Mum sharing what has worked with her children.

What things would you never have known, till you read her book?

I've never heard of her, tbh.

I'm on the Facebook group and I'll be honest a lot of of people on there are absolute smug dicks who shame other mothers... similarly the breastfeeding yummy mummies groups.. judgemental twats who preach away but are awful to anyone who has slightly different opinion (or just isn't a dick 🤷‍♀️ )

You haven’t answered, op. What are these pearls of wisdom??

I agree with about 70% of what she says. I find the insistence on a transitional object really odd, particularly as bf babies usually aren't that bothered about them. I think most parenting books/authorities assume all children are the same and if yours are a bit quirky or awkward it can make you feel quite shit the foolproof techniques don't work. The baby hasn't read the book, as they say.
