Newborn wind pains at night affecting his sleep

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice/experience on this, 5 week old baby breastfed - over the past few weeks his nighttime sleeping has been affected by lots of restlessness, leg crunching to his stomach and grunting.

Last night it was the worst its been, disrupting him going to sleep and waking him every hour on the hour. We've tried gripe water which worked initially and wind/burp during/after every feed.

For extra info, he has a possible posterior tongue tie and reflux which both have to be confirmed.

Thanks so much in advance ☺

I did baby massage on my DS when he was suffering wind which seemed to help. You can find videos showing you how to do it on YouTube. Also used Infacol which seemed to be better than gripe water.

I think my 3 week old might be suffering from this too. I'm a first time mum and really don't know.
Sometimes she burps after feeds fine and other times we really struggle to get it up. The last 2 nights she's been very restless at night and snorting/grunting noise.

Try a bit of dentinox, it s cheaper than infacol and some people say it was better for their reflux babies.
