Toddler in big boy bed now - sleep

Hello,
We moved our DS into his own big bed a couple of weeks ago when he started to learn to climb over his crib. He's 2 years 3 months but he's v tall.

The first night he got up many times and we calmly led him back to bed. Since then he doesn't get up but he wakes up and calls out 2-3 times a night - "MUMMY AND DADDY!" in an anxious shouting tone. We just go to door (which is left ajar) and reassure him we are there and that's enough, til he does it again a couple of hours later.

It's a v broken night - I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if we are handling it the right way. He was previously sleeping through til 5ish in his cot and didn't do this.

We had this. A good few days of broken sleep and falling out of bed and a few weeks of him not going off to sleep by himself. Ended up doing extra park trips so he was completely shattered and did go back to sleeping through.

Ok thanks that does sound similar. I guess he's getting used to the change. He's also refusing his nap most days now so he's overtired. What a fun time!
