1 yr old wetting through every nappy at night

Our 14 month old has started wetting through every nappy we put on him at night. We were using aldi size 5 nappies day and nappy pants at night, have tried both at night and still leaking. Have also tried tesco and pampers nappy pants.

He is in a size 5 and 10kg so defo too small for a size 6.

I have put him in New longer 12-18 month vests....surely he can't need 18-24?

He wears either next pyjamas or fleecy sleepsuits but again both have plenty of room.

And yes....willy is pointing down 😆

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I think you can buy vest extenders from amazon or ebay. Just a bit of fabric with poppers.

SnarkyBag · 28/03/2021 10:24

Ds was like this from day one. We used to put a regular nappy on and then the size 6 pull up pants over the top. Was the only thing that worked!

Potterythrowdown · 28/03/2021 10:27

I used to change mine in the dark when I went to bed at about 11pm. He'd sometimes wake up wet in the morning but it was better at 6am than 3am. I tried loads of nappies but I think it was the way he slept that made it worse.

Have you tried the + nappies?

Cherry85 · 28/03/2021 10:39

@orangejuicer I can't find 5+ anywhere? They seem to stop at 4+?

I did this!

We're up to 6+ in Asda angels nappies now but have used the + nappies for night time for as long as I can remember (which isn't long to be fair). Do you have other options for shops where you are, just to try something else?

Mammaaof · 28/03/2021 10:42

They definitely do 5+ in most places

Forevernamechange12333333 · 28/03/2021 10:42

5+ Pampers ? Work just fine for us for DD who does a lot of wees at night, she is 19 months. We find the supermarket brands aren’t as good, Aldi premium were really good, as good as pampers but our local Aldi withdrew the higher sizes and stopped at 3.

Dd is same weight as your DS, 10kg -give them a go.
Try Asda as they do two large packs ( 72 nappies a pack) for £18. We just use them At night time

AbsolutelyCrapuless · 28/03/2021 10:43

DS was the same (still is occasionally)only night time nappies we can use are pampers active fit nappy pants. Size 6 for us. In the day we just use any old nappy as we can change him whenever but these are the only night ones he doesn’t leak in, or at least only does rarely. We also stop any drink at 5.30 (except his milk before bed) change at 6.45 for bed at 7?

Forevernamechange12333333 · 28/03/2021 10:43

I’d not use nappy pants at night, they just don’t have the absorption for night time wee

Barneybear11 · 28/03/2021 10:44

My dd was like this. Every morning soaked through. It only improved when she potty trained a month after her 2nd birthday.

dementedpixie · 28/03/2021 10:44

Try 5+ in a different brand

AyyX · 28/03/2021 10:45

Maybe try size 6 pull ups? Sometimes the weight on the nappies suggest what weight but I realised mine always needed a size up to what they say coz she has chubby legs.
She’s 16months, probably around 11kg and in size 6 pampers nappy pants. Never leaks either.

Flappityflippers1 · 28/03/2021 10:45

My DS was like that for a little while (it seemed to be a phase that passed). The only thing I found got him through the night was actually using a close parent cloth nappy, with the night time booster (I am not a fan of cloth nappies so was most pissed off at the washing, but they did work! Ditched them as soon as I could!)

trevthecat · 28/03/2021 10:48

Nappy on backwards. Worked for us

SmednotaSmoo · 28/03/2021 10:54

I found mine suited different nappies, particularly overnight. My eldest flooded all but the most expensive pampers brand overnight (but was fine during the day) - I guess it was the elastic around the waist or the wriggling - my middle one was much cheaper!

mads2750 · 28/03/2021 10:59

We use pampers baby dry nappies (not nappy pants) size 4 for our 22 month old at night - never had a leak and I'm amazed at how much it holds! She has reusables during the day but was leaking at night even with double boosters.

These are from Tesco couple weeks ago

Caspianberg · 28/03/2021 14:59

Cloth nappy. We use tots bots bamboozle. Advantage is you can just add more boosters if a high wetter, and decrease when they start wetting less.

HopingforbabyD · 28/03/2021 16:48

@Cherry85 my little boy is heavy wetter at night and I've found the + nappies from Aldi to be a godsend x

OverTheRainbow88 · 28/03/2021 16:49

I used to double nappy!!

Mylittlesandwich · 28/03/2021 16:51

We use nappy pants and night. I know they don't work for everyone but they have more stretchy waists than nappies and that seems to stop the leaks for us.
