10.5 month old milk intake

My DD is refusing to finish bottles. Last few days she’s only drank 12oz each day - I know it’s not enough.

She normally has 3 6oz bottles a day which HV said was fine as she will get 2oz from yogurt, cheese etc but she’s only taking 3-4oz max at each bottle. Even her first bottle of the day she only drinks 2-3oz then she refuses breakfast. (Eats lunch and dinner with no fuss).

She also wakes all night, not for a feed, just moaning/whinging all night.

She’s a small baby anyway and I feel like she’s lost a little weight since the refusal began.

Any suggestions on what I can do or shall I just leave her be?

Teething. Try giving nurofen and anbesol liquid and see if that helps.

Does your little one prefer food over milk?

It could be teething. The only time mine would refuse milk/food was teething. I got some gel that stayed in the fridge and I rubbed it on her gums about 20 mins before she was next due food and that helped a lot.

She hasn’t got any teeth yet and I’ve been blaming teething for months 🤣 her gums are quite swollen though and I have been trying powders, anbesol, Calpol but doesn’t always help.

@mrsbitaly I think she does prefer food over milk - she’s never been a big fan of milk as she has reflux. She’s been refusing breakfast the last couple of weeks though.

Teething can go on for many months and if her gums are inflamed it's probable! Perhaps try and give her a cold damp flannel to chew on right before meals too, its a more barrel way of relieving some of the pain

It's not far off what she needs which is 13.5 floz or 400 ml.

Try and give her some foods that are high in good fats like salmon so that you are replacing the fat and protein in her diet and some good calcium rich foods too along with a multivitamin each day.

@MaMaD1990 I’ll try that, thanks!

@BunnyRuddington The HV told me at her 10 month review she needs 20oz Hmm but I’ll make sure to give her foods like that, thanks!

I'm pretty sure the guidelines changed from 20floz till 6 months a while ago and it's now 13.5 floz/400 ml between 10 and 12 months. HVs can often give out outstayed advice or in the case of my HV often downright dangerous.
