Hello
I gave birth 4 wks ago this Sunday had 3 vaginal tears, the main lochia bleeding is stopped and i am feeling hardly any pain now BUT when i go for a wee and wipe there is bright red blood on tissue, not a lot but a bit does this mean stitches are broken?! Did anyone else experience this? Not sure what to do i have a checkup in april with drs at same time that baby has jabs etc any advice would be great x

Hi! For me, the main bleeding stopped at 4 weeks but I still had a bit of blood here and there. My stitches were gone way before that though, and I had tears + episiotomy so I'd be surprised if yours are still in. It shouldn't bleed when stitches fall as the area is healed.
I'd give it a few days and make a doctor's appointment if nothing changes but I'd say it's more likely to be the end of the bleeding

I had 4 weeks or so of bleeding and then a couple more weeks of on and off bleeding after that. Would usually happen just as I was due to leave the house! Did the midwife check your stitches when you were discharged from their care?
