Recommendations for toddler bedroom light with speaker please!

Moving toddler 22 months into new bedroom and ‘big bed’ and would like to get a light for bedtime reading which ideally:

  • is made from safe materials so can’t break
  • works without mains cable
  • has dimmable and colour options
  • plays music...I’d really really be happy if it played from my iPhone and had remote or app controls for the music at least

The only thing I can find so far that’s ticks most boxes is the Hatch, seems a bit pricey though. Any ideas or recommendations? TIA

Surely something that lights up and plays music over Bluetooth from your phone will munch through batteries if it's not plugged into the mains? Or constantly need charging?
My kids have got jamoji speakers that can do the music bit, not sure if you get light up ones though. They charge up on mains then can play unplugged. However they make a loud disconnecting sound when they switch off which might wake your toddler...

We put smart bulbs in our lg room, we have timers set up to dim and turn off.

If you're going to buy a hatch for £60 I would recommend spending an extra £10 and getting a yoto player. It does all that stuff but is also a really great kids audio player, which a 22 month old could probably use by herself soon. We love ours.

Anpro Star Projector Night Light Kids - 16 Colors Baby Pat Lights with Timer, Bluetooth Speaker to Play Music, 8 Brightness and 5 Levels of Speed, Mood Light for Birthday Party, Children's Bedroom www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082W9RF2L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_ZPC6BGSYCJ30S29DEJ98?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 Hi @Llamasally this isn’t what I have used from my baby being newborn and it’s been amazing. We still use it now. It connect via Bluetooth so I can put white noise on when she get unsettled without entering the room. It can act as a projector and also a night light and it has a power cable but can be used cordlessly too - although I do not know how long it lasts without the power cable as I’ve never done this. By far the best purchase we’ve made. Hope it helps.

@ChocOrange1 just looking at the yoto, like how this is for the child to use too - does it play anything via Bluetooth? Could I play Spotify songs from another room to it for example??

You can use it as a normal Bluetooth speaker connected to your phone. You can also buy cards which have content on, stories, music, sound effects like white noise. When you put a particular card in it plays that content. My 4 year old has one and she will choose a story and put it on herself. You can make your own content with make your own cards as well. I expect your daughter will be too young right now but in a year or so would love it.

I can send you a referral code for £10 off if that's what you decide to go for.

Worth looking into the Yoto player as well. It can function as a night light and Gro style clock and also can play music/stories either from your phone or from cards that you can put in the top.

Happy to share my referral code for 10% off 😊 prz.io/YQzQ9YxSE
